Guardians
Guardians serve as the police force in Crystal World, responsible for apprehending lawbreakers and minimizing crime. The term ‘Guardian’ dates back to ancient times, when defense forces primarily protected the King and upheld the law.
Today, it refers to all members of the security and defense forces. Each guardian holds a military rank, such as sergeant, captain, lieutenant, etc.

How to become a guardian?
Everything begins at Guardian Academy. After two years of study, cadets can pursue careers such as detectives, criminal experts, engineers, lawyers, or serve in the military.
Each town and city has its own Guardian House, which maintains public safety, investigates incidents involving forbidden spells, and prevents crime. Guardians also patrol the surrounding areas for illegal activities. Teams are made up of mages with diverse Gifts, allowing them to work more effectively together.

A shift in traditions
Historically, only men could become guardians because they were believed to be the best warriors. During the era of patriarchy, each Guardian House had a secret Gift Hunter whose job was to identify and report teenage boys with destructive Gifts. If a girl manifested a destructive power, she would be captured by Gift Hunters and sent to the nearest Mercy House, where her powers would be removed.
​Over time, women united and fought for their right to serve as guardians.
