
Gifts
Divine Source grants mages magical abilities known as ‘Gifts.’ Gifts always manifest during adolescence, when a mage becomes able to use them consciously. This awakening usually occurs under specific circumstances, often during intense emotional turmoil. Long before their Gifts manifest, all mages are taught to use their powers for good. Using Gifts to harm living beings is strictly forbidden.
There are many Gifts in Crystal World; some are common, while others, like time magic, are very rare. Each Gift comes with its own limitations. Many people cannot use their Gifts against blood relatives or loved ones – a phenomenon known as genetic or emotional blockage. The only universal limitation among all Gifts is the inability to avert death.

The Crystal World has three types of magic:

Elemental powers include Gifts tied to the elements of nature: Fire, Earth, Water, or Air.

Mental powers are Gifts that affect the mental plane, from mind-reading to dream travel.

External powers enable mages to manipulate time or different planes.

​A curious fact about Gifts – even if the person has their channels damaged for some reason, they only lose the ability to use any kind of Elemental Magic and the powers that require a physical touch (for example, hypnotic power or mind-reading). However, the powers that let the mage tap directly into the Source, such as dream travelling, future telling, or empathy, can still be accessed and even developed with practice.
Elemental Powers
Elemental powers are ancient and fundamental. Mages who possess these Gifts can control their element and are immune to it. For example, those with the Gift of Fire cannot be burned, while those with the Gift of Water cannot drown.
Some Gifts require a combination of two elements and are considered rare. For example, the healing Gift needs both Earth and Water, while weather tamers must master both Water and Air.
The Gift of Fire is considered superior because it can destroy all other elements by feeding on them. It takes at least twice the force of other elements to extinguish Fire.
Interestingly, Elemental Magic is the only kind of power that can be used as spells.

Mental Powers
Mental powers allow mages to connect with others' inner worlds. Mind-readers must touch someone to see their thoughts, fears, or desires. Gift-readers can sense what others’ Gifts are.
Dream-travelers can visit others’ dreams only if they share a strong emotional connection; otherwise, they need to sleep near the person whose dream they wish to enter.
Future tellers don’t need physical contact to connect. If they know a person, they can see that person’s future in their dreams.

External Powers
External powers allow mages to manipulate the external world.
Mages with time Gifts are extremely rare. For example, an Oracle is born only once every 25 years. Oracles use astral projection to travel into the future, granting them the opportunity to help shape their society’s destiny.
Plane Gifts let mages read events that occurred in specific locations throughout time. Traveling between worlds enables mages to project their consciousness into different dimensions and observe what is happening there.
